Our Story

Ladies Work Remote was created by Liz Shinn in 2017 in Washington, DC as a way to bring women who work remotely together on a weekly basis.

Liz loved working remotely, but she was also aware of how lonely it was at times. She knew there were others who felt the same way, and a coworking meetup would help to make working virtually social instead of isolating.

Liz headed back to her hometown of Atlanta in 2018, and she started the Atlanta chapter January of the same year. Fellow LWR member Christina stepped up to organize and run the DC chapter. Two years later, both groups are going strong with 270 members in Atlanta and over 300 members in DC!


Mission Statement

Ladies Work Remote aims to ensure women working remotely have a place to connect with like-minded professionals in their city.


We meet on a weekly basis to build a healthy amount of socialization into an otherwise lonely remote work day.


Each woman involved with Ladies Work Remote is motivated, and this creates an environment that inspires everyone to hustle just as hard.


With such a variety of professions involved in Ladies Work Remote, it is a great place to find someone to ask for help or to hire for work.


We seek local coffee shops and libraries in order to support our home communities and explore our city.
